Jedi: Battle Scars (Star Wars)

My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I've read a lot of Star Wars books. I think close to 200 of them, which includes the ones written for teens, etc.. This by far had the worst prose I've ever encountered. The amount of "telling" versus "showing" is so overwhelmingly distracting it made the book hard to read.
I was genuinely excited about this book. I played and beat the video game that it's storyline is a continuation of. I was rooting for the book. I desperately wanted to love the book.
But the entire thing felt like an insult to the intelligence of the Star Wars community.
I hope Sam Maggs and whoever supported the decision to write in this style will reconsider the approach in all future novels. Cause this was really bad. It's really obvious that Star Wars/Disney is trying to build these stories for future movie empires, and if you're thinking about using this text as a future movie I'd avoid it at all costs.
I'm returning the book.
